When you are moving into a new place there’s a big chance you have a lot of renovating to do. Especially if you have small children. Kids rooms are always a lot of work. They often want a lot of bright colors. Bright colors are a lot harder to paint. They can be quite opaque and you might have to redo it and layer it to get the best color payoff. This could mean that you will have to spend a lot of time on it. Painting is not something you can easily do in an hour. You really have to take your time to do it. There are a lot of tips and tricks to make painting a little bit easier. Make sure you tape the edges of the walls and the floor and around all the power points. Just put some painters tape on and around all the areas you don’t want to be painted. This will make sure you will have clean lines and sharp edges. Painting will still cost you a lot of time. If you could block out your floor with some papers or old sheets, you could hire an indoor paint sprayer. This is just a big airbrush for your walls. It will evenly coat them and the spray gun will not damage anything, as long as you protect you floor and tape the edges. Hardware stores often sell little pots of paint you can buy to check if you like the color of it. If you happen to damage any of the paint that’s already on your wall, just fill it in with these testers. Make sure you have the right color though, or you will have to repaint your entire wall again. This will save you a lot of time and money. |
